Wedding music

In a country which immortalizes music, where some of the greatest musicians and composers were born, no Italian wedding would be complete without the appropriate music.

A typical wedding in the south could include the ‘cake cutting ceremony’ to the sound of live opera – a tenor or a baritone.

During your ceremony

Church requirements are usually strict and the priest may insist on purely religious classical music, organ, string instruments or perhaps a harp.

Civil ceremonies are a little more lenient and most town halls will give permission for a particular request as long as it is fairly classical and in keeping with the ceremony.

Aperitif or cocktail hour and reception

Lovely to set the scene with background music – if you’re in Sorrento, perhaps a mandolin player? Bear in mind each town in Italy has its own traditions and sets the scene. We can advise you in more detail, don’t hesitate to contact us.
Dancing

We have had requests for all types of music, from singing gondoliers through to well-known DJs. Our music department has services to suit all tastes throughout Italy from fantastic bands, to DJs.

Important requirements

Italian law establishes that those who wish to organise shows or entertainments where intellectual works are exploited (e.g.: music for a party), should ask SIAE for a licence and pay the relative amount. If you do not have the license, you can risk a large fine and having music stopped in the middle of your wedding or event. Please check the official web site of Italian Authority SIAE Siae – Music in Italy law.

Our services include visiting the SIAE local office on your behalf, applying for the license and then after the event completing the list of songs (together with the musician) of music played to ensure royalties are paid.

For some amazing locations in Italy, such as a castle or a private palace, you will need the services of outside caterers
